Crop image to a circle
Updated Nothing is uploaded
Make a round profile picture or circular logo: position the circle over the face or subject, then download a PNG whose corners are transparent.
How to crop a picture into a circle
- Choose your photo.
- Drag the circle over the face or subject and resize it with the handles.
- Pick 'Profile picture 400×400' for a small avatar, or leave the size blank for full resolution.
- Press Crop image and download the PNG.
Why PNG?
A circle leaves four corners outside the image. Only formats with transparency (PNG, WebP) can keep those corners see-through; JPG would fill them with white. That's why circle crops are always saved as PNG.
Profile picture sizes

| X (Twitter) | 400 × 400 | Circle |

| YouTube | 800 × 800 | Circle |
Most networks crop square uploads into a circle themselves, so pre-cropping is mainly useful for websites, slides, email signatures and design files.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the background black or white in some apps?
The PNG corners are transparent; apps that don't support transparency show them as a solid color. Open the PNG in a browser to see the real result.
Can I make an oval instead?
Pick the Free ratio first, then choose Circle — or use any ratio and Round image corners at 50% for an ellipse.
How do I keep the edges smooth?
The circle is anti-aliased. For the smoothest edges, export at 400 px or larger and let the website scale it down.
